Fans mistakenly slam Robert Irwin over Halloween costume: 'OMG'

Despite many fans declaring Robert and Bindi Irwin the 'winners' of Halloween with their hilarious group costume, others have slammed the 18-year-old Wildlife Warrior after mistaking his costume for something else.

Robert, along with his sister and brother-in-law Chandler Powell, and their daughter Grace Warrior, dressed as characters from the US sitcom The Office.

Wearing a mustard yellow shirt, grey tie and glasses with his hair parted in the middle, Robert was clearly dressed as Dwight Schrute, played by Rainn Wilson on the show. Meanwhile, Bindi was dressed in all black with cat ears and whiskers drawn on her face to look like Pam Beasley in the season two Halloween episode. Chandler wore black pants, a black tie and a white shirt with three black dots stuck on to copy Jim Halpert's Three Hole Punch Jim outfit from the same Halloween episode.

The group posed in an office next to a photocopier and a fire alarm to get the full look. They also shared a video of Robert and Chandler in character, saying popular lines from the show. Grace also joined in on the action and sported a white t-shirt emblazoned with the text ‘World’s Best Boss’, which is featured on Michael Scott’s coffee mug in the show.

However, many fans on TikTok actually thought Robert was dressed as Jeffrey Dahmer, due to his blonde hair and glasses.

"Bro took Jeffrey Dhamer's identity," one user wrote, while another agreed, adding, "My guy dressed up as Jeffery Dahmer."

"Jeffrey Dehmer is that you?" a third questioned.

"Tell me he's not dressed as Jeffrey Dahmer on Halloween, cause if he is then, byeeee," someone else wrote.

"OMG I thought you were Jeffrey Dahmer," yet another said.

However, many other followers came out in Robert's defence, with one user writing, "Blonde hair + glasses MUST equal Dhamer. Oh God guys."

"Guy can't wear glasses without people going mad," another joked.

"Not sure why ANYONE thought he was Dahmer," a third pointed out.

"You really think the Robert would dress as a serial killer? Y’all need to re-evaluate yourselves," someone else wrote.

To top it all off, Robert had captioned his video, "Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica. Happy Halloween from Dunder Mifflin’s Australia Zoo Branch!"

Ryan Murphy's Netflix show Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, topped the Netflix charts for weeks after its premiere in September, with Evan Peters starring as Dahmer.

While some were convinced he was dressed as the serial killer, many others thought he was dressed as Gustavo 'Gus' Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

"Y'all talking about Dahmer I thought he was Gus Fring," one user wrote.

"Bro's Gus from Breaking Bad," another agreed.

"Everyone: He’s Dahmer. Me: He’s Gustavo Fring," a third said.

"Robert's yellow shirt and glasses reminds me of Gustavo Fring," someone else said.

Thankfully, most people understood the Irwins' costumes, with many others praising the outfits.

"I salute this tribute," David Campbell wrote on Instagram, while Rove McManus added, "Brilliant!"

"Just when I thought this man couldn’t get any better," one follower added.

"This is elite from you Rob," another added.

"I love this soooo much! It's the best family costume," a third said.
