Felicity Huffman to guest star on “Criminal Minds: Evolution” as Jason Gideon's ex-wife
Meet Dr. Jill Gideon, a new character in the "Criminal Minds" universe.
Felicity Huffman is joining the BAU.
The Desperate Housewives alum is set to guest star in the upcoming season 2 of Criminal Minds: Evolution as a new character with ties to a familiar member of the BAU. Huffman will play Dr. Jill Gideon, described as a brilliant biological psychiatrist and the ex-wife of Mandy Patinkin's Jason Gideon, who met his demise during the original series' season 10.
Jill is tapped to help Rossi (Joe Mantegna), JJ (A.J. Cook), Penelope (Kirsten Vangsness), Tara (Aisha Tyler), Luke (Adam Rodriguez), and Emily (Paget Brewster) investigate a murderous conspiracy theory. Though she's reluctant to join the team given her complicated history with Rossi and the death of her ex-husband, she realizes her expertise is invaluable to cracking the mystery of Gold Star.
Zach Gilford (Elias Voit, the debut season's unsub) and Ryan-James Hatanaka (Tyler Green, a former army intelligence officer who infiltrates Elias' network of killers) will also return in series regular roles. The first season of the Paramount+ reboot followed the BAU as they unraveled Elias' network of serial killers, which he built during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Huffman most recently made her U.K. stage debut in the Park Theatre production of Hir opposite Taylor Mac. Other recent credits include series The Good Doctor and When They See Us and the film Otherhood. The Emmy winner previously made headlines in 2019 after she was sentenced to 14 days in jail (she served only 11) for her role in the college admissions scandal.
