Lambeth Country Show reopens after four hurt in 'serious incident' on fairground ride
A country show where four people - including an 11-year-old girl - were injured after a fairground ride malfunctioned has reopened.
However, all fairground rides at the Lambeth Country Show in Brockwell Park, south London, have been closed and cordoned off.
A ride featuring a giant frog was seen among those behind tall black fencing.
Signs apologising for the "inconvenience" have been pinned to wire fencing around the fairground area.
On Saturday, Lambeth Council confirmed a "serious incident" took place at about 6.20pm, with police saying a man and a woman in their 40s and a man in his 50s were also hurt along with the girl.
"None of the four is believed to be in a life-threatening condition," Lambeth Police posted on X.
"We await full hospital assessments."
A council spokesperson said the area around the ride was "secure" and confirmed the funfair had been closed on Saturday evening.
"A thorough investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the malfunction," they added.
"Additional safety inspections are being carried out on all rides and attractions at the show."
The London Ambulance Service said it sent "multiple resources to the scene including four ambulance crews and members of our hazardous area response team".
London's air ambulance was also dispatched.
"We treated four people at the scene and took them all to major trauma centres," a spokesperson said.

Helen Hayes, the Labour parliamentary candidate for Dulwich and West Norwood, posted on X: "I'm shocked to learn of the failure of a fairground ride at Lambeth Country Show earlier this evening.
"My thoughts are with those who were injured and all who witnessed this horrific event.
"Thank you to the emergency services who attended. There must now be an urgent investigation."
