As more and more of us embrace life without trips to the salon as we remain in quarantine due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, you might be missing your hairstylist extra hard right now. But Gabrielle Union just made the case for showing off your natural hair and celebrating your strands just as they are. She created the “quarantine natural hair chronicles” on Instagram, and she looks beyond gorgeous, as per usual.
Union shared a selfie video of her beautiful natural curls, hinting in her caption that she’s spending some of her time at home working on her Flawless hair care brand. She wrote, “When your natural locks appreciate the lock down. Unlocking the secret soon…” She added that she’s “in the lab,” and joked that she’s serving “Frederick Douglass realness,” which truly gave us the LOLs we needed on this Monday morning.
It seems we’ll have to wait a bit more to find out what exactly Union’s working on, but for now, we’re just here to appreciate her natural hair in all its glory.
She’s not the only one in the Union-Wade household to embrace those stunning natural curls. She shared a few shots of her pajama time with her 1-year-old daughter, Kaavia James.
“See @kaaviajames, mama’s got hair like yours!!” Union wrote on Instagram.
“When I took my braids out she was like 👀🤔,” she added.” Now Mom & baby [are] both rocking their natural curls.”
Even dad Dwyane Wade got in on the fun, helping baby Kaavia tend to her hair, which the couple shared on her personal Instagram page. (Yes, this toddler has a better social media presence than most adults!)
All jokes aside, we love that mom and daughter are embracing their hair exactly as it is and having a blast doing so. Flawless, indeed!
