Glossier's Black Friday sale is almost here for 2023, and our beauty team is already scouting out the best products to grab in this year's shopping extravaganza.
When it comes to Black Friday, there's no better occasion to get savvy with your savings and to spoil your friends with some beauty must-haves (and while you're at the checkout, you might as well treat yourself too).
Many brands launch some pretty spectacular deals to kick start the festive season, but Glossier is one that shines bright amongst the Cosmo team. The brand's coveted skincare and make-up traditionally comes with very generous discounts but once a year – and in 2023, we're expecting nothing different.
Last year, and for many a year before that (since 2018, OG fans will know) Glossier got stuck in, offering us some stellar steals. We were treated to 30% off a site-wide sale on all shopping baskets totalling over £85 (a number which, let's be real, isn't hard to rack up) or 20% off any smaller orders.

We could write a passionate (and lengthy) love letter to Glossier about its results-driven skincare and barely there make-up – in fact, we’re yet to meet a Glossier product we don’t love.
But, here's our only gripe. The brand rarely puts on a sale or gives out discount codes to help knock down the price of our wishlist. Well, now is our moment.
This one-a-year sale is the optimal opportunity to stock up on some Holy Grails or to treat yourself to a few newbies you've had on your eye on (like the Stretch Foundation, hint hint). Better yet, there's not long to wait now so get your baskets at the ready.
Glossier 'You'
Any Glossier fan will be very familiar with You. Perhaps what's most appealing about this fragrance is that it's neither overpowering nor opinion-dividing, but has a universally adored aroma that feels oddly familiar. We see it as the déjà vu of fragrances – after one whiff you'll question where you've smelled it before.
And the coolest part? It delivers a cosy yet fresh aroma that unites with your body's chemistry to create your unique trail. Yep, it smells different on everyone. This is one we're keeping a close eye on 👀.
If you haven't heard already (genuinely, if you haven't, where have you been?), Glossier launched a candle iteration of the 'You' fragrance. Like the perfume, the candle smells individually unique to each sniffer. It throws a cosy, powdery aroma that creates a comforting atmosphere in any space you light it in. We're placing bets in the Cosmo office that this will reach sell-out status as soon as Black Friday hits.
Skincare
If you’re hitting the sales to update your skincare routine, let us introduce you to the holy trinity, Glossier-style. Used together on a daily basis, the Milky Jelly Cleanser, Solution acid exfoliator and Priming Moisturiser (or the oil-control version if you're acne-prone) work to deliver a clear, balanced complexion without any unnecessary strain on your skin (or bank balance).
Plus, After Baume is a saviour for seriously parched skin – designed to repair the barrier and do some serious damage control if you’ve taken retinol or resurfacing acids a step too far (we've all been there).
To supercharge your new routine, slot in one of the brand’s concentrated serums. While the Perfecting Skin Tint and Lash Slick will always have us covered on ‘no make-up’ days, we will always have a soft spot for Cloud Paint, dabbing it over our eyes, cheeks and lips. Brows play an important part in any makeup routine, so you can bet Boy Brow will be on my list (especially as it now comes in a bigger size).
And, not to forget, the new Stretch Foundation and ergonomic brush. Our foundation-obsessed beauty team have tested this delicate formula over the past weeks and, after much deliberation, it's received a resounding seal of approval. It's buildable, light-to-medium coverage and has a skin-like formula that is what our Glossier dreams are made of. We see this as the most exciting Glossier launch yet. What is Black Friday?
First up, what actually is this mythical shopping event? While its origins are disputed, we know that Black Friday was born in the US, with phenomenal discounts causing the kind of scenes in Walmart that nightmares are made of. Have you ever seen two women fight over a 50-inch telly? That’s Black Friday... the early years).
Fast forward to today, and these deep discounts have firmly crossed the pond, with a whole host of retailers from Charlotte Tilbury to GHD slashing prices to celebrate the season of shopping in style. Of course, all the smartest shoppers know to tackle Black Friday online, from the comfort of their own homes.
Does Glossier take part in Black Friday?
All hail Emily Weiss, because in 2018 she blessed us with the very first Glossier Black Friday sale, taking a very generous 20% off the entire site. Fast-forward to today and the tradition is going strong. Expect to be spoiled with mighty savings on our favourite serums and cleansers, make-up and even the brand’s signature perfume, You. (Which is incidentally also the signature scent for half the Cosmo beauty team.)
When is Glossier’s Black Friday sale?
This year, Black Friday falls on 24th November. So everyone, bank cards at the ready. These major deals are what we’ve been waiting all year for.
