Gwyneth Paltrow's Brother Jake Depicts the Trial of a Nazi Officer in “June Zero” Trailer (Exclusive)

'June Zero,' which centers on the 1961 trial of Nazi officer Adolf Eichmann, is in theaters June 28

Gwyneth Paltrow's brother is releasing a new movie.

On Wednesday, May 8, Cohen Media Group shared the trailer for Jake Paltrow's June Zero exclusively with PEOPLE. The movie, which originally premiered at film festivals in 2022 and 2023, centers around the 1961 trial of Adolf Eichmann, an officer in Nazi Germany's regime during World War II whom the United States Holocaust Memorial and Museum describes as "among the major organizers of the Holocaust."

June Zero revolves around the experiences of three people during and after Eichmann's trial in Israel before he was executed in 1962. The film's characters, portrayed by actors Noam Ovadia, Tzahi Grad, Yoav Levi and Tom Hagi, grapple with the moral issues at hand in sentencing a Nazi official to death years after World War II's end and the complications of what to do with his body after.

"Based on true accounts, June Zero is told from the unique perspectives of three distinct figures: Eichmann’s Jewish Moroccan prison guard, an Israeli police investigator who also happens to be a Holocaust survivor and a precocious and clever 13-year-old Libyan immigrant," reads an official synopsis for the new movie.

Jake cowrote the film with Israeli filmmaker Tom Shoval. The movie marks Paltrow's first feature film since 2015's De Palma, a documentary concerning the life and work of filmmaker Brian De Palma.

"June Zero takes place in Israel over 60 years ago, but connects directly to our present. I think many of us everywhere feel lost and confused in this moment, and in this confusion are too easily divided into We versus They," Jake wrote in a statement about June Zero to PEOPLE. "June Zero is our attempt to recognize and resist these patterns of dehumanization. We hope audiences will join us in the dark for some contemplation."
