The cinematic event of the year is almost upon us, and we have been blessed with some new footage that looks absolutely incredible.

But enough about Avengers: Infinity War. We're going to need you to lower your expectations a bit.

Lifetime, purveyor of dubious TV movies like the Britney Spears one the singer refused to endorse, are now jumping on board the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wedding hype with Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.

The first, lowly-expected trailer is finally here, and it is... existing:

Actors that don't really look like their real-life counterparts? Check. Slushy soundtrack? Check.

Dialogue like "I don't need my life to be this perfect royal picture. I just need you" which toes the line between sweet and cloying? Double check.

We've definitely got a Lifetime movie on our hands.

Look, it's easy to mock these films as being low-quality, cheap and cynical cash grabs and aimed at the lowest common denominator, but we all know we're going to watch, tweet about it and probably enjoy it a little bit too anyway.

Also, when you think about it, grandmothers are notoriously hard to buy Christmas presents for and this is just about the safest choice you can make.

The TV movie stars Murray Fraser as Prince Harry and Parisa Fitz-Henley as Meghan Markle. Lifetime has also cast former Shortland Street star Bonnie Soper as Princess Diana, and Fargo's Maggie Sullivun as Queen Elizabeth II.

Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance will premiere on Lifetime on May 13.
