Home and Away's James Stewart reveals secret to 12kg transformation

The Home and Away star has shared his top tips for transforming your body.

Home and Away's James Stewart has revealed the key to losing 12kg earlier this year, with the star revealing he was feeling 'sluggish' before losing the weight.

The 47-year-old surprised fans in April when he shared a gym selfie, showing off his abs after a workout.

Speaking with The Daily Telegraph, James admits to eating more than usual during the Covid lockdowns.

"No one wants to hear it, but most of the work is done in the kitchen and at the bar," he explained, revealing he went two months without alcohol. "Because everyone doesn’t mind doing a little bit of exercise – it doesn’t matter what it is. The hard part is the food."

James also shared that he's lucky to be surrounded by health-conscious people on the Home and Away set and can always chat with his co-stars if he needs any tips.

Taking to Instagram earlier in the year, James shared that he was sitting at 100kg and is now down to 88kg, adding, "I was sluggish… wore baggy shirts and didn’t feel great… the thing that got to me the most is I couldn’t keep up with my kid… now she has trouble keepin up with me (sic)!"

He continued, "To all of you tryin to get in shape I’m not gunna sugar coat it… instead of beers and burgers grab a protein shake and a salad... then just put your trainers on and go train (sic)! Sounds simple… but it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and I’ve done it twice."

James explained that the first time he transformed his body, he did it with celebrity trainers, but this time he did it on his own.

"As fit as I am physically, it’s my mental fitness that is my favourite benefit. I feel good about myself. A better man, a better husband, a better father."

Fans commented on the post, sharing their support for the actor, with one user writing, "Great work, mate. Looking good."

"Man that’s such a great accomplishment. You look healthy and HAPPY," Georgie Parker added.

"Killing' it Jimmy," another wrote.

"Awww such a lovely, honest and inspiring post," someone else wrote. "Well done on putting in the hard work and for sharing your journey…I’m sure this will encourage many to give it a go. Good on ya."
