'It hurts a lot,' says cafe owner after break-in
A cafe owner has said "it hurts a lot" after his business was broken into and trashed overnight.
Adam Dursun, who runs Adam's cafe in Hythe, Hampshire, said he alerted police after he arrived at work on Saturday morning to find the premises had been vandalised.
The 46-year-old, who lives in Totton with his family and has owned the cafe for three years, said: "It was like a bomb had gone off."
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has been approached for information.
Mr Dursun said: "I came in this morning and all the eggs and everything were on the floor. I was shocked.
"It hurts a lot, this is how we make a living, we work hard and this happens."
He said no money had been taken but all of the drinks had been stolen.
He said more than 1,000 people in the local area had shown their support after he posted about the break-in on social media and informed his customers the business was temporarily closed.
"People don't like this going on and not enough is being done to tackle crimes like this," Mr Dursun said.
"We just get on with work, we get on with everyone locally, never argued with anyone, we're just a cafe."
He has said that he hopes to reopen his business on Monday morning.
