Jeremy Renner Elbows His Way Through Explosive “Mayor of Kingstown ”Season 3 Teaser
The actor returns in the Paramount+ thriller to tackle a new crime boss and put an end to a drug war
Jeremy Renner is back once more to tackle corruption in Mayor of Kingstown.
The third season of the Paramount+ series will see the fictional city of Kingstown, Michigan rocked by explosions, according to a press release, while a “new face” of the Russian mob “sets up shop” and a drug war persists. The burden falls to Renner's Mike McClusky to put an end to the war, but when a familiar face shows up, things get even more complicated.
The first season 3 teaser hints at what’s ahead, opening with Mike at a funeral, running his hands over the tombstone of his dead brother Mitch McClusky, previously played by Kyle Chandler.
“5 percent of people are truly good. 5 percent are evil,” he explains, as the clip cuts to moments of Milo (Aidan Gillen) in prison.

The next handful of scenes sees Mike determinedly walking through an alley, cops moving in on a location in the middle of the night and Mike crouching in front of Mitch’s tombstone.
“The rest of us, we wrestle between the two. We are what we are, what we're willing to do,” Mike says in a narration before the teaser quickly cuts to the show’s gritty title card.
Renner told PEOPLE in January 2024 that he was “a little bit scared” to be working on the series again, which is his first project since his life-threatening snow plow accident in January 2023 — an incident that involved months of recovery for the actor.
“I don't know if I'm looking forward to it. Again, I try to just do everything kind of step by step here,” he said, adding of his mindset about returning to set, “That's one foot in front of the other one. Then you're walking.”
“I think I'm excited when I'm there and I get in a rhythm there,” he continued. “I'm excited about the character and, of course, all the people involved and all that in the storyline, but for me, I'm just tentative of confidence in work.”
Starring on Mayor of Kingstown means putting between 14 and 18-hour workdays “in the freezing cold outside in Pittsburgh.”
On Jan. 10, Renner stepped back on set for the first time and admitted he was “nervous” about it.
“Hope this works out that I can ACTUALLY pull this off for our production and more importantly the fans @mayorofkingstown @paramountplus,” he wrote in an Instagram post's caption.
