Jimmy Carr calls Chrissie Swan a 'MILF' on The Project: 'Bloody hot'

The Project hosts were in hysterics on Monday night, after Jimmy Carr referred to Chrissie Swan as a ‘MILF’ while discussing his upcoming Australian tour.

The comedian told the panel that he enjoys touring in Australia in February and March due to the good weather.

“I’m not a dummy, I tour Australia in February and March, right? Because in Great Britain in February and March it’s cold and wet and windy and awful.

“In Australia, in February and March, every day is a MILF. 44 and bloody hot!”

The panel couldn’t contain their laughter, before gently reminding Jimmy that they’re on a 7.30 timeslot.

The comedian then set his sights on Chrissie, who lost her voice after attending the Logies on Sunday.

“Speaking of MILFs though, what’s the matter with her voice?” he asked. “Because it sounds like The Project are doing a seance and that’s a voice from the other side.”

Chrissie was mortified, agreeing that she sounds ‘possessed’ and buried her head in her hands with embarrassment.

The star then asked for tips to get her voice back, and Jimmy was quick to allude she had a drinking problem.

“Well, there’s 12 steps really, to getting over your problem,” he began.

Chrissie swore that alcohol wasn’t involved, and she has been open about her path to sobriety over the past year.

Chrissie’s transformation

This comes after Chrissie revealed she’d given up drinking on The Project last year.

At the time she said she'd "recommend it" to others after not feeling her best during the first lockdown in Melbourne last year.

"I really am reticent to be the poster girl for sobriety because it was a decision I made for myself after giving it a fair nudge in the first lockdown last year," she told her co-hosts.

"If you're thinking, 'Oh, maybe I'm drinking a bit much or it's not helping me anymore', I think that's the biggest thing I've taken from it, is that it didn't help."

She added that the alcohol increased her feelings of anxiety in relation to the pandemic and meant she wasn't sleeping properly.

"I really noticed a huge difference in my day-to-day positivity and ability to deal with the pandemic and the ongoing changes to literally every part of our lives if I'm clear minded, and for me it's been fantastic, a fantastic choice," she added.
