John Stamos Faces Off Against Glen Powell in Tennis Instagram Post: ‘Where’s Zendaya When You Need Her?’

John Stamos and Glen Powell are having some friendly competition!

Stamos, 60, shared an Instagram photo on Tuesday, July 2, of him and Powell, 35, face to face with nothing but tennis racquets between them. The former Scream Queens costars seemingly prepared to play a tennis match, and Stamos’ caption called for an expert to join them.

“Where’s @zendaya when we need her?” he wrote, referring to the actress’ recent film role in the 2024 tennis drama Challengers. 

Fans went wild in the comments, wondering whether the Full House alum had seen the movie, which is about a love triangle between pro tennis players — Zendaya’s character and her two male counterparts played by Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor.

“I am dead !!!!!! ☠️ caption is everything 🤣🤣🤣,” one person wrote.

“I feel like I'm interrupting something….,” another person wrote.

The Instagram account for the Challengers movie even left a comment under the photo, simply saying: “👀.”

Stamos may not be facing off with the Anyone But You star in an upcoming tennis drama, but he will be in the upcoming season of UnPrisoned, starring Kerry Washington. It premieres on July 17.

He will take on the role of Murphy, a bestselling author, reality star and self-proclaimed “family radical healing coach,” in the second season of the Hulu series. Alongside him will be guest stars Jamie Chung, Brandee Evans and Oliver Hudson.

A returning guest will be Brenda Song, who appeared in the first season as Delroy Lindo’s onscreen love interest Nadine.

Stamos has played a therapist on TV before, previously portraying the pot-smoking Dr. Nicky Reynolds in You’s first and second seasons.

Long before this, Stamos got his claim to fame in famed soap opera General Hospital from 1982 to 1984. Soon after, he found himself on Full House.
