JoJo Siwa is shedding light on her experience on Dance Moms — and her recent return for its newly-released Lifetime reunion special.

On the May 2 episode of her JoJo Siwa Now podcast, the social media personality, 20, reflected on the “drama” from past and present, starting with what occurred the day before filming for the reunion began.

“There was a party with everybody,” she began, listing Brooke and Paige Hyland, Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler, Chloé Lukasiak, Nia Sioux and Kendall Vertes. “I was understanding, because I don’t know half of them. It’s totally fine. I’ve always been the outsider amongst the group, so I didn’t really care.”

However, Siwa was “hurt for” Kalani Hilliker, who didn’t receive an invitation but was “good friends with all of these humans.” The day after the party, the cast (excluding the Zieglers and Sioux) came together to film the reunion special.

“It wasn’t done ethically,” the singer said of the outing. “That put a sour taste in everybody’s mouths, including those who were at the party the night before. They were like, ‘This is kind of messed up, what just happened’ once it was put into perspective.”

Despite the “little shady bits” between the reunited castmates, Siwa said, “We’re all adults. We all get over things. Say your point, say your peace and let’s move on with life.”

The incident was addressed during the two-hour special when a producer asked about the girls’ previous night. “You don’t think there’s any other ulterior motives of having you guys all over there the night before a reunion where they’re not gonna be here to speak or to defend themselves?” the producer asked.

Brooke, 26, stated that Sioux and the Ziegler sisters’ absence was not brought up the entire night, but Vertes, 21, admitted that “it’s weird.”

“We’ve never been invited like that,” Vertes said.

The producer then questioned if “everyone in the building” had received an invitation. In the dressing room, Siwa and Hilliker, 23, laughed.

Siwa called out the trio for skipping out on the Dance Moms reunion, accusing them of trying to “erase” their past and “pretend it never happened, shove it down the drain.”

“When it’s like, that’s why you are who you are,” she added.

Still, some cast members seem not to hold a grudge against the absent alumni.

Asked in an Instagram Stories Q&A whether she considers the Zieglers and Sioux “friends,” Paige wrote, “more so FAMILY 🥰🤞🏼always.”
