On Sunday, June 16, the Glass Onion actress, 45, shared a post on Instagram paying tribute to Russell's role in her life, as she lovingly called him "Pa."

"You got that right Loretta!" she wrote in the post's caption, alongside a photo of her and the actor, 73, smiling for a selfie, as well as snaps of Russell waving at her from across a dinner table and embracing Hudson's mom and Russell's wife, Goldie Hawn.

Goldie, 78, and Russell were first linked in 1968, but were married and welcomed children with other partners before they eventually found their way back to each other in 1983.

Goldie is mom to Kate and son Oliver Hudson, 47, with ex-husband Bill Hudson, and Kurt is also dad to son Boston Russell, 44, whom he shares with ex-wife Season Hubley. The couple also share a son, Wyatt, 37, and Kurt has raised Kate since she was 4 years old.

In 2021, when Kurt celebrated his 70th birthday, Kate shared another heartfelt tribute to him, reflecting on the influence he has had on her life.

"He has taught me that we can all exist with immense love through our differences," she wrote on Instagram. "He gave me the gift of confidence, instilling a knowingness in me that I deserved everything I worked for and I knew that he'd always have my back in whatever challenges may lay ahead. When you have a dad who gives you permission to be confident, you live courageously."
