Kate McKinnon Portrays Lori Loughlin in Jail as SNL Spoofs College Admissions Scandal
Saturday Night Live took viewers behind bars.
During this week’s ‘Cold Open,’ the comedy series finally took on the ongoing college admissions scandal as the cast spoofed what could possibly happen to Lori Loughlin as her criminal case proceeds.
Loughlin, played by Kate McKinnon, finds herself in prison where she teaches her fellow inmates a lesson on real crime.

“You think that’s insane?” McKinnon comically asks the other inmates who were comparing the crimes that got them in jail. “I paid $500,000 to get my daughter into USC… I’m loco.”
And the other inmates couldn’t believe it.
“Hold up, you paid $500,000 for USC?” Kenan Thompson‘s character asked, in disbelief.
When McKinnon’s character explained that she paid an additional $300,000 in tuition for her daughter to major in Communications, only for her child to become an Instagram influencer, Thompson’s character couldn’t take it anymore.
“Stop it!” he exclaimed, traumatized after hearing the horror of what she’s done. “Wait a second, are you Aunt Becky?” Chris Redd’s character says, referring to Loughlin’s Full House character.
Loughlin, 54, and Giannulli, 55, are facing felony charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud after they allegedly paid $500,000 to have daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose recruited to the USC crew team, despite the fact that neither rowed. (It is unclear whether or not Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose are believed to have known about the alleged scheme.)
Loughlin and her husband have not admitted to any guilt.
Also in the SNL skit, the inmates tell McKinnon’s character that she doesn’t have what it takes to survive in prison.
“Oh really? You think prison is hard? I’ve done 68 Hallmark movies. I have seen hell, man!” she says. “And in half of those movies, I married Santa’s son. So I’ve lost all sense of reality!”
To add to the hilarious madness, Pete Davidson and Michael Keaton join the bit as lawyer Michael Avenatti and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, respectively — even poking fun at their alleged crimes and recent arrests.
Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine (played by Melissa Villaseñor) also made a cameo.

If found guilty, Loughlin faces up to 20 years in prison for each charge against her.
On Tuesday, Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were among the 16 parents indicted on an additional felony charge of money laundering conspiracy. Loughlin and Giannulli have not admitted to any guilt.
The Fuller House star has yet to plead guilty out of fear of what it would mean for her daughters, a source told PEOPLE.
