Today, the nation is celebrating the King's birthday - a milestone which is marked in central London by the King's Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour.

This is when over 1,400 officers and soldiers, together with two hundred horses form a parade complete with music and an elaborate procession. It's one of the key dates in the Royal Family's calendar and, after a troubling start to the year, fans were happy to learn that the Princess of Wales would be joining the proceedings.

In March, it was sadly announced that the princess would be undergoing treatment for cancer and on 14 June, she shared a message on social media which provided an update on her diagnosis as well as confirming her attendance to Trooping the Colour.

Today, fans have been delighted to see the princess involved in the festivities, wearing a regal dress and smiling with her children.

The outfit she wore for this significant outing consisted of a long-sleeved, white midi dress by Jenny Packham embellished with a contrasting black and white trim at the waist and a black and white bow detail at the neckline.

She accessorised with a black clutch featuring a kiss-lock fastening, a pair of white court shoes and a white Philip Treacy hat.

In terms of jewellery, she seemed to re-wear Cassandra Goad Cavolfiore earrings which she has previously worn to Prince Louis' christening in 2018, as well as the Irish Guards Regimental Brooch, in respects to her role today as the regiment's honorary colonel.

We're sending our thoughts and well wishes to the Royal Family on this special day.
