Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Welcome Their Baby Girl And Share First Photo

From Delish

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's little girl is here. Perry and Bloom announced the baby's birth on Wednesday. UNICEF posted an Instagram sharing the news and their daughter Daisy's first photo. The organization included a statement from Perry and Bloom, which said:

Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honoured to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and @OrlandoBloom’s new bundle of joy.

“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” Katy and Orlando told us.

“But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.

“As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare. In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival. By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your ♥️ can bloom with generosity.

Gratefully- Katy & Orlando.”

Perry announced her pregnancy back in March through her music video "Never Worn White."

"I’m excited, we’re excited, and happy," Perry said immediately after the music video's release on an Instagram Live. "It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I thought I would tell you guys in the best way through a piece of music."

She announced that their baby is a girl in April.

Perry and Bloom are engaged. This is Bloom's second child. He has a nine-year-old son, Flynn, with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

As the Black Lives Matter protests started globally, Perry made a pledge shortly before her daughter's birth to do her part to be an anti-racist ally. "I try to live my life to answer the question, 'How can I be of service?' I have spent the last few days watching, listening and reflecting about how to utilize my privilege and platform," she wrote. "I hope that #BlackoutTuesday gives us all (especially in the music industry) an opportunity to take what we’re learning and put it into action on Wednesday, and every day going forward."

Perry said she has donated to organizations, adding, "This soon to be mother is going to work hard to make damn sure this world is a more just place for every child. Black Lives Matter."
