Kensington Palace has shared one of Kate Middleton’s most adorable photographs of Princess Charlotte just a day after the Duchess of Cambridge made her podcast debut.

On Sunday, the Palace posted a photograph of the four-year-old royal on its official Instagram account in which the princess can be seen smelling a bluebell.

The photo is presumed to have been taken in the grounds of Anmer Hall – the Duke and Duchess’ country house in Norfolk – where the family is believed to be spending the half term next week.

The snap, which was taken by Kate, sees Charlotte bending down in the grass to smell the springtime flower. She wears a blue check dress and a grey knit, with her hair pulled back into a ponytail and tied with a navy blue ribbon.

‘Thank you for sharing your sweet family with us,’ one user commented on the snap.

Another added: ‘Such a gorgeous picture of a wonderful little girl.’

The photo comes a day after Kate Middleton appeared on Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast Happy Mum, Happy Baby.

During the pair’s discussion, the royal chatted about motherhood, her experience of hypnobirthing, the guilt of being a mother and the ‘physical and mental wellbeing’ that children have when enjoying nature.

‘As children, we spent a lot of time outside and it's something I'm really passionate about,' she said.

'I think it's so great for physical and mental wellbeing and laying those foundations.

Speaking of the photo, Kate added: ‘I've got this one photo of Charlotte smelling a bluebell, and it's moments like that which mean so much to me as a parent.

'I try everyday to put moments like that in even if I don't have time... but that in an ideal world is what I would like to do.'

The royal also touched on her experience of standing outside the Lindo Wing hours after giving birth to each of her three children, describing it as ‘terrifying’.

When asked by Fletcher how it felt to step out hours after giving birth in front of the cameras, the royal admitted: ‘Yeah, slightly terrifying, slightly terrifying, I'm not going to lie [laughs].

‘Everyone had been so supportive and both William and I were really conscious that this was something that everyone was excited about and you know we're hugely grateful for the support that the public had shown us, and actually for us to be able to share that joy and appreciation with the public, I felt was really important.’

Kate said that there were ‘all sorts of mixed emotions’ when they posed for cameras, adding that it was an ‘amazing’ moment to see her eldest son Prince George for the first time.

‘It is extraordinary as I've said,’ she gushed. ‘How can the human body do that? It is utterly extraordinary, actually. And he was very sweet. And also sort of relieved that he was a happy, healthy boy.’
