Eight years ago we were all squeezing ourselves into shiny American Apparel leggings and buying everything and anything that had a galaxy print on it.

Ahh, simpler times.

As well as having an unhealthy obsession with Rimmel's Kate Moss 107 lipstick thanks to Zoella, we also had a serious dip dye problem, which was only encouraged by fellow YouTuber, Llymlrs.

Anyone with long brown hair during that time was destined to return home with a box of Jerome Russel bleach, which they proceeded to haphazardly slap all over the ends of their hair.

Sadly our ombre hair never turned out exactly how we wanted (unless of course you were aiming for brassiness from the ears down) and just like our galaxy print nails, it's a trend we never dabbled in again.

That's all set to change now that Kim Kardashian herself has resurrected dip dye hair from the grave.

Forget your Irish Setter shade of blonde, Kim's 2020 version of ombre is way more subtle and way more luxe.

Her stylist Chris Appleton uploaded a picture to his Instagram of her new 'do and the colour blending is so seamless it's genuinely invisible.

Our DIY could jobs could never.

Kim has been rocking her lighter brown hair for over a month now (which is a big deal in Kardashian/Jenner world) and we love this subtle twist on the look.

While bum-length extensions are never practical, this subtle grown out colour is the style we will all be recreating through winter when we cba to get our roots done.

Now, where did I put those leggings?
