Kim Kardashian's Met Gala BTS keeps on coming.

The 43-year-old just shared never-before-seen photos as she prepped for the Monday May 6 event as well as a peek behind the process of creating her controversial look.

"The making of..." the mogul captioned the Thursday, May 16 Instagram post.

One particularly shocking photo in the carousel shows a close-up of the sky-high platform shoes that she wore for the evening. The clear lucite shoes are missing a heel, so Kardashian had to balance on her toes in order to wear them.

The reality star's sister, Khloé, commented on the dramatic shoe choice saying, "That invisible heel is wild! How did you manage? I definitely would have fallen."

Kardashian also shared snaps of various fittings. On multiple occasions, she needed help balancing while teetering on the gravity-defying shoes.

In a behind-the-scenes video of her fitting for Vogue, Kardashian says that she chose the heelless shoes to avoid tripping on her dress's train.

"To wear these, you’re on your tiptoes and you’re balancing the whole time flexing your calf muscles,” she explains, comparing the movement to that of a ballerina. “I think we really need the height on this look, so we gotta do what we gotta do,” she adds.

The star's footwear is just one jaw-dropping detail of Kardashian's polarizing look. She SKIMS founder shocked fans when she appeared at the Gala in a custom Margiela by John Galliano corset that gave her a dramatically cinched waist.

In her Vogue video, Kardashian is seen breathing through her mouth while being laced into the corset, which, according to the label, was rewoven with antique silver brocade. “It’s an art form, but I got it," she says.

Despite any discomfort, Kardashian says she loved the corset because it made her boobs and waist look “so good.”

“I’ll feel so snatched, I won’t even be able to communicate to you how snatched I feel," she added.

Kardashian also wore a simple gray sweater over the glamorous gown.

Speaking with Vogue on the red carpet, Kardashian explained that the look was meant to represent “the wildest night of my life in a garden” where she just ran out and grabbed her “boyfriend's sweater and threw it on and had to get to work And my hair's all messed up."
