Kimora Lee Simmons Receives Goodwill Ambassador Award from Daughters Aoki and Ming Lee at Gala (Exclusive)

The entrepreneur is mom to daughters Aoki and Ming Lee, and sons Kenzo, Wolfe and Gary

Kimora Lee Simmons had some extra special people by her side as she accepted an award this week.

On Wednesday, May 8, the entrepreneur, 49, was honored with the Goodwill Ambassador Award at the Smile Train Gala in New York City. The mom of five was presented with the award by her two daughters, Aoki, 21, and Ming Lee, 24, smiling together as the three took the stage.

Before the awards ceremony, Simmons and her daughters posed together on the red carpet, matching in black outfits. The proud mom wore a long black tank top and silver skirt, while her daughter Ming Lee wore a long-sleeved long black dress. Aoki opted for a shorter, long-sleeved dress with a giant bow across the front.

"It's always so exciting. We are very, very close, we do everything together, whether it's red carpet, whether it's fundraising, charity, family holidays, so to have them here and also supporting is just a really big deal," Simmons tells PEOPLE of her kids at the event.

Simmons to mom to daughters Aoki and Ming Lee, as well as sons Kenzo, 14, Wolfe, 8, and Gary, 14.

In February, Simmons celebrated Valentine's Day with all five of her kids.

The proud mom posted a photo on her Instagram as she posed with her entire family. Wearing a sleeveless black gown, Simmons stood on the side next to daughter Ming Lee. On the other side of Ming Lee, sons Kenzo and Wolfe posed together, with son Gary in front of them. Daughter Aoki rounded out the family of five, stunning in a golden gown.

"Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! ♥️😍💋🍫💕 from me and my valentines!🥰❤️💕✨," Simmons wrote in her caption.

This past January, the model mom celebrated daughter Ming Lee on her 24th birthday, first sharing a photo strip of photo booth pictures of the mom and daughter when Ming was younger. The other pictures show mom and daughter in more recent years, bearing an undeniable resemblance.

"Happy 24th birthday to my first born baby @mingleesimmons! 🎂🧁🤍 The love of my life, the one who made me a mom 1st!" she wrote.

"My beauty inside and out! My mini me number 1. My royal pain in my a$$!" Simmons teased. "I hope this year brings you everything you want and deserve! Mama loves you and i’m so proud of you beyond words !!!! 🎈🎊🎁❤️🥂."
