Kristin Juszczyk Recalls 'Torrential Downpour' at Wedding to 49ers Kyle Juszczyk and 'Magical Moment' Sun Came Out
"As I was having my hair and makeup done lightning literally struck the cabin we were in," Kristin tells PEOPLE of the couple's upstate New York nuptials in 2019
Kristin Juszczyk will never forget her wet and wild wedding day to San Francisco 49ers player Kyle Juszczyk.
Juszczyk, who gained fame as the breakout designer of the 2023-2024 NFL season by crafting custom jackets for celebrities like Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes, reveals that while she holds many beautiful memories from the couple's special day, one stands out above the rest.
"It was torrential, downpour, torrential, and as I was having my hair and makeup done for my wedding, lightning literally struck the cabin we were in," Kristin, 30, tells PEOPLE of the couple's Cedar Lakes Estate nuptials in Upstate New York on July 6, 2019.
"All my bridesmaids turned to me to see my reaction," she continues. "I simply replied, 'It's sunny outside. What are we talking about? You could get a tan.' We just chose to ignore it."
Despite the weather's reluctance to cooperate during the pre-wedding festivities, Kristin recalls a miraculous moment just before she walked down the aisle to exchange vows with Kyle – whom she got engaged to in 2017 three years after they met in Baltimore, Maryland.
She explains, "The clouds just broke out and the rain stopped. Even though everyone was drenched from sitting in it before, it was this magical moment just being able to walk down the aisle in the sun, and it kind of was just special."
Reflecting on her special day now, she remarks, "It goes by so fast. It doesn't matter how long of a wedding you have, it will never be long enough."
At the time of their wedding, Kyle also took to social media to share what the day meant for him. He posted a photo of the couple sharing a romantic kiss.
“I married the most beautiful bride inside and out!!” Kyle wrote on Instagram after the two tied the knot. “Not a day that I’m with you will go by that I don’t kiss you. This was the best weekend of my life! I never wanted it to end!”
He added that he “happy cried and smiled” more that weekend than he had in the last decade of his life, and was grateful for the energy their loved ones brought while celebrating their special day.

In February, Kristin also told PEOPLE that since the beginning of her fashion career, Kyle has been her number-one supporter.
"He's just been incredible. I mean, I know this week, month, and year have been equally stressful for him. So he's just the best partner," Kristin said. "I know everyone sees the little glimpses of him supporting me, but that's not even 5% of what makes him the best partner ever."
