Lincoln man cleared of manslaughter jailed for affray
A man cleared of the manslaughter of a neighbour has been jailed for 12 months for affray.
Krystian Skowronski, 32, of Gaunt Street, Lincoln, was cleared of the manslaughter of 66-year-old Philip Woods on 5 June last year.
However, a jury at Lincoln Crown Court convicted him of affray in relation to a separate incident on the same day.
Skowronski, who was sentenced on Tuesday, was also made the subject of a two-year restraining order.
The defendant was charged with manslaughter after it was alleged he and Mr Woods had been involved in an altercation.
Prosecutors had alleged Skowronski was a noisy neighbour whose actions in disturbing his neighbours, some of them elderly, led to the death of Mr Woods.
Skowronski, who was represented by defence barrister Gordon Aspden KC, was cleared of that offence but found guilty of affray in connection with an incident which had taken place earlier that day.
Jurors heard Skowronski behaved in "a threatening and intimidating manner" towards a woman in a car by pretending to kick her car and by punching one of the windows, causing her to fear for her safety.
Judge Simon Hirst sentenced Skowronski to 12 months imprisonment for the affray and imposed a restraining order.
