As one of the biggest and most talented girlbands in the world, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the Little Mix ladies don't have any issues when it comes to confidence – but it turns out that's not always been the case.

Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall appeared on Lorraine this morning (October 19) where they spoke candidly to Dan Wootton about how they've learned to love themselves. Leigh-Anne wasn't part of the interview due to illness.

Perrie revealed during the candid chat that she's lived most of her life trying to cover-up her freckles with makeup after being teased when she was younger, until she decided it was time to embrace them.

"As I've got older they would come out in the sun, but when I was younger they were there all the time, and I remember getting called 'freckle face' and everyone would criticise them," she said.

"No boys would come near me and there would be no kisses in the playground because I had freckles. Look at me now boys."

She then went on to explain why the band – who just dropped their new single 'Woman Like Me' – are so keen to get their fans to embrace their own insecurities.

"Everyone has their own insecurities, but we want to teach our fans that being yourself is enough you should embrace your insecurities, that what makes us different and unique."

Jesy also spoke out about how her confidence took a serious knock during the band's time on The X Factor.

"When I went on X Factor it became such a thing, people were saying 'she's so ugly and fat'," she recalled. "What I used to think about myself completely changed, I became so insecure and believed what everyone said, and it was such a horrible road for me to go down."

But fortunately, the star's learned not to listen to the haters.

"As we've got older we don't know what the turning point was, but we just learned not to care anymore. It's about being yourself, not changing for anyone to please them, and if you don't like it then do one."

Jade candidly revealed how she was desperate to get a nose job at the age of 18 after being airbrushed during an early photoshoot.

She said: "I was determined to get a nose job. I was that ugly the magazine had to change my appearance, right? Wrong."

"We have all fallen victim to feeling like we need to change who we are/what we look like in order to fit into a society that determines what is and isn't beautiful.

"You are beautiful. We are all unique in our own way. It's society that needs to change, not you."

You go, girls!
