It was only a matter of time before films, TV shows and music releases inspired by the pandemic arrived. And it looks like one lockdown-based film has our names written all over it: Lockdown. Yep, it's called Lockdown. With a great cast and the writer of Peaky Blinders at the helm, here's what you need to know about the upcoming movie.
What's the film Lockdown about?
Written by Peaky Blinders creator Stephen Knight, the film follows two romantically-involved thieves, Linda and Paxton, who attempt a jewellery heist at London's iconic department store Harrods, while the city is in coronavirus lockdown.
Doug Liman, who was behind Mr. and Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity films is on board to direct.
Who stars in the film Lockdown?
An all star cast, that's who. 12 Years A Slave's Chiwetel Ejiofor and Anne Hathaway from The Devil Wears Prada will take on the roles of Paxton and Linda respectively, while Bohemian Rhapsody's Lucy Boynton has also signed on.
Deadline also say Sir Ben Kingsley, Mindy Kaling, Ben Stiller, Lily James, Stephen Merchant, Mark Gatiss, Jazmyn Simons and Dulee Hill are also on the list of stars. This. Is. HUGE.
When will the film Lockdown be released?
Filming on the production started in London in late September 2020, but there's no clear timeline for when it might complete, or be released. We'll have our fingers crossed for soon though, because that cast is stellar!
