Love Island is so well integrated back into our lives that it's hard to remember a time without it. We've been getting to know the shiny new line-up of singletons and we've definitely formed some pretty strong opinions so far. Adam, we're looking at you.

But a little internet digging shows that, for some of the islanders, their stint on the ITV2 show might not be their first brush with fame. Dani Dyer's famous dad aside, a handful of this year's contestants have previous links with other stars – and some fairly famous exes.

1. Josh Denzel and Kayleigh Morris

Never one to shy away from telling it as she sees it, Big Brother and Ex On The Beach star Kayleigh has had quite a lot to say about Josh.

Claiming to have been seeing the LadBible personality earlier this year, she says she had a gut feeling he was going on the dating show when he 'disappeared' from her.

"I messaged him when I got back [from a work trip] and he said he wanted to see me, " the MTV star told new! magazine.

"We were trying to figure out dates, but he went AWOL two weeks ago. I texted him saying, 'You're either dead or you're going on Love Island, but I'm hoping you're dead.'" Ouch.

Kayleigh also thinks he is "looking for fame", not love, and was surprised by his decision to do the show because, she says, he "always said he wouldn't" do reality TV.

2. Samira Mighty and Chris Pine

Yes, you read that right. The West End performer got everyone talking when she did a big ol' name drop in the Love Island villa, telling her fellow contestants that she had once dated a big Hollywood name.

The soon-to-be reality star actually let us in on the secret before heading onto the show, telling Digital Spy and others: "I went to the GQ Man of the Year after party, and I thought I recognised this guy. I knew him from the Disney Channel.

"I thought, 'My God, he was in that movie with Lindsay Lohan,' and he kind of moved to me and I thought, 'He seems fun, he seems cool.'"

Apparently he asked for her digits and took her out on a date – to the Soho Hotel, no less – the very next day. Samira explained that they continued to exchange friendly texts before she jetted off to take part in the show.

3. Rosie Williams and Jordan Davies

Poor Rosie seems to keep attracting all of the wrong guys (again, we're looking at you Adam) having been 'cheated on' by Ex On The Beach star Jordan before deciding to head onto reality TV herself.

"We were together when he was filming Ibiza Weekender and that's when he cheated on me," she told The Sun before her bombshell Love Island entrance.

"Funnily enough I was a secret, and now I realise why. But we're friends now, I don't love him anymore so I've got no grudges, we're friends."

Proving how amicable they really are, Jordan proclaimed that he is #TeamRosie in a touching Instagram post.

Also stating that she deserves to win the show, he said: "Shes [sic] one of the most hard working, funny and kindest people I've ever known & I was lucky enough to be with her."

4. Dani Dyer and Sam Strike

Whether the dating rumours are to be believed or not, Dani is clearly good friends with the former EastEnders actor. It's hardly surprising really, considering her dad just so happens to be Danny Dyer (in case you didn't know). Sam played his TV son Johnny Carter in the BBC soap from 2013 to 2014.

There are a number of Instagram snaps of these two messing around, and with Sam now making a name for himself in the US in the likes of Mindhunter they are each doing very well for themselves.

The 29-year-old islander started speculation that she'd dated the '00s pop star when eagle-eyed fans spotted some selfies on her Instagram page.

What's more, she rather cryptically revealed that she had, in fact, previously had a relationship with somebody in the public eye. Hmm. We'll leave you to draw your own conclusions with that one.

6. Eyal Booker and Tina Stinnes

Not only is Tina a former islander, but she's also a 'Made in Chelsea reject' (a little harsh, we know, but a label that was screeched at her by fellow LI star Kady McDermott and one that's kinda stuck in the minds of fans).

This particular ex revelation came from Olivia Buckland, close pal of Tina and fellow series two alum, in her column for new! magazine.

"I actually don't know any of them except Eyal Booker – Tina Stinnes dated him not long after we came out of the villa," she said of the new contestants.

"He's the brother of someone I work with at W7 make-up. I've never met him, but from what I know, he got on well with Tina," Olivia added.

7. Laura Anderson and Michael Poole

It looks like the Scottish air stewardess might have two famous connections, as there are also photos of her looking very couply with this rugby player.

Pictures were posted with the former Welsh pro, now a successful fitness coach, on her Instagram page back in 2016.

In recent weeks, single Laura has been cracking on with Wes Nelson in the Love Island villa. He had us all believing that they were one of the strongest couples on the show so far, even telling her that he was 'falling' for her, but the arrival of new girl Ellie Brown and her freckles seems to have turned his head.

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
