Just a few days after welcoming their twin boys into the world 10 weeks earlier than expected, Married At First Sight’s Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson have shared an update on their sons’ health.

Melissa took to Instagram on Friday to post a selfie from the hospital alongside a heartfelt caption about the experience of giving birth to her “tiny little fighters” prematurely.

“I could never have prepared myself for what premmie babies and their families go through,” she began.

“Or any parent where their bubby is struggling with life after birth or decide to leave this earth and grow their angel wings.

“The tears never stop and I wish more than anything they were home with us. But I know they are in the best of care.”

Bryce re-shared her story, adding, “She’s already a great mother. Myself and the twins are lucky to have her!”.

The 32-year-old also posted a video visiting his sons in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

“Love spending time with our two little boys. They’re being very well looked after by the NICU nurses,” he captioned the clip.

The posts come shortly after the engaged couple shared a video on social media thanking their followers for their support.

“Hey guys, just wanted to jump on to say a massive thank you for all the messages that have come through,” Bryce said on Instagram.

“Yes, thank you,” Melissa added. “Thank you for all the love for us and the bubbys, they're doing really well.”

The couple announced the exciting news that they had welcomed their twins into the world with an adorable video earlier this week, revealing that Melissa went into labour on Saturday.

Melissa is seen sitting in the hospital bed in the video, with Bryce saying: “We didn’t really have your typical Saturday morning, did we babe?”

“No, no today,” she replies. “We were planning to start establishing the nursery but here we are. Big shock, very early but I’m being very, very well looked after.”

“Twin boys didn’t want to stay inside and play, they wanted to come out and meet us in the real world,” Bryce said.
