Former Married At First Sight star Hayley Vernon has called her OnlyFans work ‘incredibly empowering’ in a new documentary.
Speaking to Todd Sampson on his Channel 10 documentary Mirror Mirror, the former reality star said she first started posting to social media to inspire people to be “better versions of themselves” but now she’s making up to $30,000 per month after turning to adult content site OnlyFans.
“It’s kind of morphed and changed since I’ve been on reality TV. I’m now utilising my Instagram to draw traffic to OnlyFans,” Hayley said.
She said it’s predominantly sexual, saying there’s softcore porn and hardcore porn on it and at a minimum she’s making between 25,000 and 30,000 per month.
“It’s lucrative because it went absolutely gangbusters as soon as I started doing it,” she said.
When asked by Todd if she felt she was doing female empowerment a disservice, Hayley responded: “For the first time in a very long time, women have the opportunity to take advantage of something that has always been in the hands of corporations, males, it’s now in our own jurisdiction and we can now profit from our own work. So it’s incredibly empowering.
“It’s the way that the world is going. Sex sells and it’s a multi-billion dollar conglomarante as such.
Hayley went on to say that when she works with girls who have gone under the knife, she thinks she sticks out and it’s not “that Sports Illustrated look” so she’s thinking she may get a Brazilian butt lift.
However, fans online were divided over the scenes, with one person writing: “Wow. Those gals and their photo shoot. As a mum of 2 girls. Not empowerment.”
“What! Hayley makes 25 to $30,000 a month on only fans!! Sheesh. Going on MAFS has paid off!” another person wrote.
Hayley caused a stir back in August 2020 when she announced she would be joining OnlyFans.
“Really thought more of you until now.,” one person wrote on her announcement.
“Men sexualise women’s bodies to make money for literally EVERY product marketing and no one bats an eyelid,” one fan wrote. “A woman takes it into her own hands and makes her own money using her own body and other women shame her. Shame on you.”
In response, another pointed out that Hayley has every right to monetise the kind of content already appearing on her social media feeds, and already in the mainstream.
