Man, 36, charged with 2nd-degree murder in death of Sundre resident
A man faces second-degree murder charges in connection with the death of a person who was found with gunshot injuries in his Sundre home in Mountain View County on Jan. 25.
According to a statement released by the Alberta RCMP, the 36-year-old victim, Justin Goodhand, was rushed to a local hospital after emergency response crews attempted "life saving" efforts at the scene, and was pronounced dead later.
An autopsy conducted on Jan. 26 determined the cause of death was homicide.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes unit has charged Richard Mcculloch, a 36-year-old resident of Sundre with one count of second-degree murder.
Mcculloch, who remains in police custody, will make an appearance in Didsbury Provincial Court on Monday, Jan. 29.
No other suspects have been identified in the investigation.
