Man arrested on suspicion of murder after stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 23-year-old died on Wednesday.

The victim was stabbed in Wrensfield Road in Stockton, County Durham, shortly before 18:40 BST, police say.

Cleveland Police has arrested a 28-year-old man and he remains in custody.

The force said it was not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbing.

Cleveland Police said officers would remain at the scene and the surrounding area for some time while the investigation continued.

It is appealing for witnesses and any information.
