Matlin and her husband Kevin Grandalski share four children together — Sarah, 28, Brandon, 23, Tyler, and Isabelle, 19.
In December, the Switched at Birth star shared that she was going to be a grandma, posting on Instagram that her daughter Sarah is expecting a baby girl.
In the announcement post, Matlin shared a video of her daughter walking past her as she sat at an outdoor table with a slice of cake in front of her. As Sarah walked by, the actress grabbed her daughter’s wrist to stop her and pull her closer.
Sarah faced the camera, showing off her growing belly that could clearly be seen in her crop top as the mother-daughter duo both smiled together.
“It’s a girl!” Matlin said verbally while also communicating with ASL, as her daughter turned the cake to show it was pink on the inside.
In 2018, the mom of four shared with PEOPLE that her kids were so proud to see their mom compete on Dancing with the Stars.
“I’m really doing it for my kids because they want me to be the coolest mom ever. I don’t know if I’m crazy or what, but I’m going to give it my best shot!” she said at the time.
