At 82 years old, Martha Stewart is still a fountain of youth, the picture of health and above all, the epitome of what it means to defy the laws of ageing. However, today, the star got candid, admitting that skincare aside, she has had a little help from non-invasive procedures to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Speaking on her experience with injectables, Martha revealed all in a new episode of her very own podcast, The Martha Stewart Podcast [Finding Your Best Face with Dermatologist Dr Dan Belkin, 8 February 2024]. The star was joined by her dermatologist, Dr Dan Belkin, who has been treating her for "quite a few years," after meeting through Martha's daughter, Alexis.

"Everybody is so interested when they see a selfie of me posted on the internet," Martha began, sharing the motive behind the podcast episode. "So many comments are about my facelift, who did it, when did I have it done and how much retouching is on the photograph, and I just want to set the record straight."

She and Dr. Belkin then proceeded to share a rundown of all the cosmetic procedures Martha had done, starting with injectables.

Dr. Belkin explained that he uses an anti-wrinkle injection, "Botox" to reduce the "downward pull" on the face. "So I do a little bit in the jawline and on the neck so that we can reduce the banding on the neck and reduce the downward pull on the face to keep those muscles a little weaker so the muscles of the cheek can pull up a little more."

However, Martha actually said that she doesn't love Botox as it makes her brows "go up in a V and looks so unnatural." Though, having said that, the two said it's still their go-to on her lower face area, particularly on her neck.

Continuing, the two of them said that contrary to what has been reported in the media, she has never had a facelift, just strategic Botox, fillers, lasers, and skin-tightening treatments. According to Dr. Belkin, Martha is a "real testament to the idea that taking care of your body, taking care of your skin, doing minimally invasive treatments conservatively and regularly can keep you looking beautiful at any age."

And to that, we agree – she certainly does look beautiful!

Now, whether you're one for ageing naturally or are all for a tweakment, we must applaud Martha for keeping it real; after all, unrealistic beauty standards today are more adverse than ever. So, more of this transparency, please.
