Mary-Kate Olsen has filed for divorce from her husband Olivier Sarkozy, after being married for five years.

Olsen has reportedly requested an emergency divorce, due to New York City not accepting standard divorce filings during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The fashion designer originally filed on 17 April, and has included a divorce petition in her emergency filing, and requests for the couple’s prenuptial agreement to be enforced.

TMZ reports that Olsen claims that Sarkozy is threatening to kick her out of their shared New York apartment and terminated their lease without her knowledge.

Documents indicate that Sarkozy has given Olsen until 18 May to move her belongings out of their home, despite her requesting an extension to 30 May, which he hasn't responded to.

The emergency filing serves as the only way that Olsen can assure her belongings at their house won’t be discarded.

The couple first started dating in 2012 and married three years later during an intimate Manhattan ceremony. They have no children together, however Sarkozy has two from his previous marriage.
