Matt Damon and wife Luciana Damon are having a well-earned parents' night out.

The couple made a glam appearance at the 2024 Met Gala on May 6 in coordinating couple style for the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”-themed event. To honor the "Garden of Time" dress code, Luciana wore a strapless white floor-length gown with gathered detail around the bust. She accessorized with a matching clutch and silver jewels along with a custom Garden of Eden-themed snake headpiece crafted by Jennifer Behr.

Matt rocked a classic black Dior Men tux with a white button-down and black bow tie. While walking out of the Mark Hotel, he joked to PEOPLE exclusively that it took him "about five minutes" to get ready.

"We've been in the room all day," he adds. "It's a production."

The two last walked up the Met steps for fashion's biggest night in 2017 for the "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between"-themed event. The two both wore Versace for the night, keeping their looks on the classic and glam side.

It was also their debut at the Met Gala, which they touched on when speaking with Yahoo Style on the carpet.

“We’ve never done this before,” Matt said to the outlet. “She’s wearing Versace. I took about five minutes. She was pretty quick too.”

Of their last gala, he tells PEOPLE it was "really nice."

"We walked through the exhibit, there was a cocktail hour and a dinner and a show. It was a lovely evening," he shares.

The Damons may not have made it to the Met Gala for the past few years, but that doesn't mean they haven't had glam red carpet dates in the meantime. The two looked sharp as ever at this year's Vanity Fair Oscar Party. While Matt kept it classic as always in his black tux with a white shirt underneath (and a bow tie, natch), Luciana went full bombshell in her black lace dress.

The mom of four wore a long-sleeve open-back dress with a hint of sparkle that also featured a thigh-high slit. She accessorized with strappy heels and a black clutch. To add to the va-va-voom, she wore her hair in a '90s-style updo with a few wisps of hair around her face.

The 2024 Met Gala is co-chaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Matt's close friend Chris Hemsworth (who, no doubt, persuaded the Damons to return to fashion's most fabulous event after seven years away). They will be joined by honorary chairs Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew.

The upcoming Costume Institute exhibit — themed “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” — will feature upwards of 250 items — including 15 significant pieces such as an 1877 Charles Frederick Worth silk satin ball gown — that span over 400 years of history.
