Matthew McConaughey’s Son Levi Posts Tribute for Actor's Birthday: ‘The Man Who’s Always There for Us’
'The Wolf of Wall Street' actor celebrated his 54th birthday on Saturday
Matthew McConaughey is celebrating his birthday with the help of family and friends!
The actor — who turned 54 on Saturday — celebrated with a football match in his home state of Texas and received a touching birthday tribute from his son Levi McConaughey, 15, in a post shared on Instagram.
“People know Matthew McConaughey as an actor and now a writer, but I know him as my father,” Levi wrote in the caption alongside throwback photos of the pair together.
“The man who always makes time for us no matter what, the man who’s always there for us no matter what, and the man who taught me to appreciate the journey and not just the destination,” he continued. “The journeys just getting started…Happy birthday Papai.”

In the first photo shared, Matthew and Levi smiled together outside as they were joined by Matthew's wife Camila Alves McConaughey and the couple's other children, daughter Vida, 13, and son Livingston, 10.
The second photo showed Levi as a young boy with Matthew in a stadium at a baseball game.
The pair were seen again with the rest of the McConaughey family, along with Matthew’s mom Kay, as they posed for an outdoor group shot.
A final photo showed the family sat around a table in a kitchen with their hands placed over each others in a sweet bonding moment.
Levi's tribute comes as dad Matthew had quite a busy day celebrating his latest birthday.
The actor was pictured with wife Camila, 41, on Saturday attending a party celebrating the launch of their new Pantalones Organic Tequila, before catching the Texas Longhorns beat the Kansas State Wildcats at the University of Texas in Austin.
In a clip shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Matthew received a birthday cake, and a bottle of his own tequila as birthday gifts as he joined the hosts of Big Noon Kickoff at the game.
“It's not too early to start sipping this, is it?” Matthew asked a crowd of fans, who had gathered behind him outside. “Here’s to 54,” he added, before opening the bottle and taking a proud swig.
The actor was seen in a second video shared on X joining the Longhorns on the pitch as they followed him in carrying out his infamous chest-beating salute from the 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street ahead of kickoff.

Last month, Matthew and Camila announced their joint tequila brand in a cheeky promotional video in which they are revealed to be riding motorcycles pantless.
Ahead of the hilarious video, the actor gave some insight into where he gets his sense of humor from earlier in October during an appearance on the Whine Down with Jana Kramer podcast.
“My family — and part of Camila and I as well — we cherish the value of a sense of humor and comedy,” Matthew said at the time.
