Mel B has ex's name cut out of tattoo

As she finalises her divorce, Mel B has taken the drastic step of getting the name of her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte cut out of her skin.

The former Spice Girl, who had the 42-year-old's name, along with the vows "till death do us part you own my heart" tattooed on her ribcage, showed off the scar that was left from the minor op saying it signified the closure of a "toxic relationship".

"I wanted the tattoo removed to help close the final chapter on a toxic relationship," Daily Mail reports Mel as saying. "Even though I’ve taken the steps to remove Stephen’s name from my body, the domestic abuse will forever remain with me."

While many would go op for laser surgery to remove the ink, Mel underwent the use of a local anaesthetic to rid her ex's name from her skin.

Mel and Stephen married in 2007, but ended their decade-long marriage earlier this year.

The America's Got Talent judge "irreconcilable differences" in her divorce papers, Mel went on to claim she had been subjected to years of domestic abuse at the hands of Stephen, before they became locked in a bitter custody battle over six-year-old daughter Madison. Mel has two other daughters Phoenix Chi Gulzar, 18, and Angel Iris Murphy Brown, 10, from previous relationships.

The Sun recently reported the singer and TV personality is set to pay her estranged husband "£3million over three years" along with "£3.5million from the sale of the home they shared together", with the outlet adding they have also finally come to an agreement over custody for Madison.
