Molly Meldrum's 'embarrassing' onstage act at Elton John concert: 'Cannot unsee'

The Aussie icon left audiences shocked by his surprise stunt.

Ian 'Molly' Meldrum, 79, shocked Elton John concert-goers on Friday night when he appeared onstage with the singer at Melbourne's AAMI Park and decided to drop his pants and moon the crowd.

Molly was in the audience when Elton paid tribute to the presenter, telling the crowd, "He’s quite honestly a national treasure."

The singer continued, "I want to thank him for all the love and loyalty he’s shown me over the years. I love you."

Molly then appeared onstage for Elton's performance of 'The B**ch Is Back', with the pair sharing a hug and kiss before the music critic decided to drop his pants. A sight fans were not prepared for.

"If seeing Molly Meldrum’s bare bum was on your 2023 bingo card, here you go," one concertgoer shared on Twitter with a video of the moment.

Journalist Peter Ford also shared a photo of the moment, writing, "Not entirely sure why. Not sure Elton was thrilled. I know I wouldn’t. But Molly will always be Molly!"

Peking Duk also shared a video of the moment on TikTok, writing, "Molly the cheeky lad!"

Fans were left stunned by the video, with one user writing, "Totally embarrassing they should usher him off stage."
