A busy mom trying to get her daughter's first birthday party together made a totally relatable mistake that ended up making her go viral.

Emily King appears beside herself in her now viral TikTok sharing her party-planning blunder while sending Evites to her guests.

"I just made an Evite for my daughter's first birthday party and on Evite it says, 'import contacts.' And I thought it meant import to select through — no. It imported all 487 of my contacts and invited them all to my daughter's first birthday."

What's worse, the Evites were sent to those in her phonebook and addressed them "based off of how they are stored" in her phone, complete with emojis.

"I want you to just take a second and think of everyone stored in your phone and how they're stored in your phone," she posed, using "Jess - hit her car in a parking lot," as an example.

Speaking with PEOPLE about the part hilarious, part distressing moment, King says that she was trying to send invites for her daughter's Lord of the Rings-themed first birthday party, "ONE to Rule Them All."

"We are going to have it at a park and have a bunch of tea sandwiches and baked goods my mom is going to help make. We originally were planning on having about 50 people, which definitely sounded like a lot when I first planned the party, but now [it] seems very small comparatively," she tells PEOPLE.

When King realized nearly 500 guests were invited, "all of the blood drained from my body. I started screaming, 'Oh my God, Oh my God.' I think my husband thought I'd gotten hurt, the way I reacted," she admits.

Meanwhile, King's husband and family "could not stop laughing."

"I also couldn't stop laughing," she shares. "I was in shock, but it was so ridiculous all I could do was laugh! I immediately canceled the party… but all 482 of them definitely received their invitations."

King heard from both an ex and her boss about getting the invite, though she says, "Everyone was a great sport about it."

"The people whose names were less than flattering didn’t respond, and I don’t blame them!" she laughs.

Sharing the hilarious situation on TikTok seemed like a given. "I decided to make a TikTok because it was just so mortifying and hilarious that I thought other people would appreciate it," she says. "I like to think I have a pretty good sense of humor, and i’m glad others found humor in it, too."

Evite reached out to King after her funny situation went viral and even sent "a $250 DoorDash gift card to use towards the party, which was super generous! They also sent a digital card that said, 'Hoping this makes hosting a *few* more people easier… and happy birthday to your daughter!'"

She called the move from the brand "a really sweet surprise."

"All is well, and now I have a great story to tell my daughter when she’s older!" King says.
