Mums and teens brawl inside Sydney bank: 'Don't touch my son'
Up to 15 people including mums and their sons were filmed throwing bunches in the brawl at a bank inside a Sydney shopping centre.
A violent brawl involving teenage boys and their mothers shocked onlookers at a western Sydney shopping centre on Monday.
Video shared by media shows up to 15 people throwing punches and pulling hair in a St George Bank at Bankstown Central. One woman was reportedly choked unconscious.
According to witnesses, a verbal argument between two families broke out at the food court moments earlier, with one woman heard yelling "don't touch my son". One family reportedly walked through the shopping centre and into the nearby bank, but the other followed, according to 7News.
Video shared by 9News shows a group of people — including mothers, their sons and young women, believed to be their daughters — in a scuffle. At one point, one person lies stretched out on the ground while at least three women land punches from above. Different footage shared by 7News shows one young man repeatedly kicking a person on the ground. Security appeared to help dissolve the situation as shocked customers watched from afar.
Shocked witnesses share 'scary' details
The fight was said to have lasted about 10 minutes before police were called at around 3.30 pm. Witness Haya Tallawi told 9News she heard "bad screaming" and when she looked up she saw "a million people" and "two women fighting together".
NSW Police told Yahoo News they attended the scene after reports of a brawl. They said a 52-year-old woman sustained an injury to her lip during the incident and was taken to Bankstown Hospital for treatment.
When police arrived, some of those involved left the scene, they said in a statement. Most people involved have reportedly been identified by police as investigations continue. It's believed the families are known to each other.
