Muni Long has a “baby boo” of her own.

The “Hrs & Hrs” singer is married to Raysean Hairston. “I thought I was in love many times before. But I'm a Virgo, and, like, we hate everything and everybody,” she’s previously told NPR. However, that changed once Long met her Hairston in Los Angeles.

“We've been married for eight years, and I think just, like, I've never had intimacy before,” she shared in 2023. “And so I think everybody deserves at least once in their life to know what that feels like.”

While the Public Displays of Affection artist has said that she “never thought” she’d get married, she and Hairston exchanged vows in 2014. Apart from being her partner in life, Hairston has been a composer and producer on some of his wife’s songs.

“It’s always great to have somebody super close to you that you can bounce the music off of,” Long said of working with her husband during a 2023 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

“He keeps me cool, because I’m very poetic. So sometimes it’s a little corny,” the R&B star added. “It’s great. It’s an amazing relationship that we have.”

So, who is Muni Long’s husband? Here’s everything to know about Raysean Hairston and his relationship with the Grammy winner.

Although it’s unclear exactly how they met, the couple did meet in L.A. The singer admittedly “hated” the dates she went on before meeting her husband.

Speaking to Vibe, Long confessed, “I never really dated. I went on maybe five dates my whole life — and I hated all of them. [They] were terrible. Horrible. Every date I went on, I hated. Before I met my husband. I’d be like, ‘I’m bored. I’m ready to go home.’ ”

They married in 2014

While Long wasn’t sure whether she’d ever walk down the aisle, she ended up marrying Hairston in June 2014. “I didn’t know if I would ever get married. I always felt like I might have to just marry a nerd or somebody who would just be happy to have me, you know? Just so that I can get somebody. Because it’s tough,” she previously told Vibe.

“People are super self-centered. It’s hard to find people who won’t be intimidated by somebody like me. And he said the same thing,” Long continued. “Neither one of us thought that we would be married, or that we would find somebody in LA.”

He and Long had an idea for a record label

According to Billboard, Hairston is one of the co-founders of Long’s label, Supergiant Records. When Long and Supergiant Records entered a partnership with Def Jam Recordings in 2022, Long said in a statement that the label “started as an idea between myself and my husband Raysean in 2019 and over the course of the next two years we would invest, hire, strategize and create. As our team grew, so did our success, and as a result of hours and hours of hard work and intense focus, this year we reaped a bountiful harvest.”

He was behind the pronunciation of Long’s stage name

Long, who was born Priscilla Renea, adopted her stage name after sharing a story with her husband. “I was studying up on this ancient sage named Muni, who sat for weeks and reached a state of nirvana in meditation. And I was sharing this story with my husband. And he was like, that name is dope, but you should pronounce it money. And I was like, hmm,” she recalled to NPR. “And so I adopted the name Muni.”

The last name “Long” followed after the performer heard 2 Chainz’s song “I'm Different.”

Long was nominated for the first time as an artist at the 2023 Grammy Awards. Although she didn’t take home the award for best new artist or best R&B song, she did win the Grammy for best R&B performance.

Hairston was by his wife’s side on her big night and sweetly gave Long a helping hand with her voluminous pink gown. Following her win, Long said, “[To have this recognition] means the world especially to have the support that I have from my family, my friends, my team, my husband. We’re such a close-knit group.”

The 65th Grammys weren’t the first time that Hairston has accompanied his wife to award shows. He’s also joined his wife at the People's Choice Awards and the American Music Awards. The pair coordinated in black outfits as they hit the pink carpet at the BET Awards in June 2023.

Their love inspired Long’s viral song “Hrs & Hrs”

Long was washing dishes when she wrote her love song “Hrs & Hrs,” which went viral on TikTok. Asked who inspired the song during a 2022 appearance on OnAirKeke, the songwriter replied, “I’ve been married going on eight years, so I wouldn’t know about the kind of love that I’m singing about in the song if I hadn’t experienced it myself.”

Though he might keep a low profile, Hairston has made appearances on Long’s TikTok. The “Baby Boo” singer has shared videos on the social media platform featuring her husband, including one of him planting a sweet kiss on her head and another of her asking Hairston about the first time she “farted in front” of him, to which he replied, “Disgusting.”
