Musical.ly superstar Kristen Hancher has a new show, and she told us all about the funniest moment on set

That’s why we’re sorry to do this to you, but 18-year-old Musical.ly superstar Kristen Hancher recently launched a comedic web series on YouTube, so pop some more popcorn because you’ve got binging to do.

The show is called Misshaps, and it stars Canada-native Hancher — who has nearly 15 million followers on the video-making app Musical.ly — as a high school student with the world’s worst luck. In it, Hancher is funny and physical, a feat for someone who’s just getting serious about the acting game.

We had a chance to ask Hancher about the show and what’s next for her skyrocketing career.

HelloGiggles: Tell me a little bit about the show.

Kristen Hancher: Misshaps is a series of short comedy skits that dive into the world of a teenager’s life.

HG: How would you describe it to someone who has never seen it?

KH: It’s like Amy Schumer trapped in a teenage girl’s body — things are always going off the rails for her.

HG: How did you get involved?

KH: My manager, Matt Dugan — who produces the show with Brat — said he found a project that was “me to a T.” And I went with it!

HG: How long does it take to film one episode?

KH: We shoot four to six episodes over the course of three days.

HG: What’s your funniest memory from set so far?

KH: It’s a scene from an upcoming episode actually. I was supposed to fake vomiting and I spat too far — and it went all over the cameraman. I still feel so bad about it. It was kind of gross.

HG: I believe you’re a dancer too, is that right? How did you get into acting?

KH: Yes. I actually went to a performing arts school in Canada for three years, and had done a couple different commercials back home.

HG: What’s next for you?

KH: I’m attached to two feature-length films, as well as filming another series later this summer.
