Neighbours star Troy Beckwith has died at the age of 48, with his former co-star Kym Valentine confirming the news in a Facebook post.
Troy appeared on the show from 1991 to 1998 as one of the show's most memorable villains, Michael 'Sicko Micko' Martin, with Kym sharing the sad news in an emotional tribute.
"Our dear old friend Troy Beckwith has passed away," she wrote. "Another member of our TV family gone way too soon. There will be no funeral as per Troy's request. Thanks for all the memories my cheeky mate and all my love to your friends and family."
Many of Kym's friends shared their condolences, with fellow Neighbours star Brett Blewitt commenting, "He was such a lovely person. Deeply thoughtful and empathetic. Cheeky and playful once out of his shell. Way too soon. Love you mate xx."
"Oh no!!! Dear Troy... That is so sad…gorgeous boy," one user wrote.
Troy's friend Selina Laine Bonica took to her Facebook page to share her own tribute.
"On the 24th of January, we lost a star and the heavens gained one," she said. "Troy, you were a pain in my a**, but I loved you dearly.
"I’m just glad you’re free from pain. Always in my treasured memories."
Ricky Fleming, who worked with Troy on the children's show Pugwell shared a tribute on Instagram, which read, "RIP to my brother from another mother. From birth we were trouble together and joined at the soul, no one will ever know the adventures and joy we had as the mischievous two (tricky and roy) in this life."
He continued, "I can honestly say there was never a dull moment when we were together. May you be in peace and still be the infectious joy of those who are in your presence now. Troy Beckwith love you buddy."
Troy slipped away from the limelight in recent years, with a cause of death not known at this stage.
