New details revealed in search for $50 million Powerball winner

New details have been revealed in the search for the winner of Powerball’s $50 million jackpot.

The division one prize was won on Thursday night after it failed to go off for three consecutive weeks.

While the ticket is registered, officials from The Lott have been unable to contact the winner via the details provided to them – meaning the new millionaire is likely unaware of their incredible windfall.

To help them find the elusive winner, The Lott have revealed the store and suburb where the ticket was purchased: Tull’s Newsagency in Forster, a coastal town 300km north of Sydney.

The manager of the newsagency, Vanessa Deland, was shocked to discover the ticket was sold in her store.

“Fair dinkum? What fantastic news!” she told The Lott.

“This is awesome. It’s the biggest win we’ve ever had, and it’s great because it’s been a while between wins.

“We’re always telling our customers, ‘we’re due for one soon’, and it’s happened! It’s amazing for Forster and for the incredible winner.

“We hope they come forward and claim their prize as soon as possible, and hope they’re as excited as we are!”

The Lott spokesperson James Eddy said they’ve tried numerous times to inform the winner of the good news with no luck.

“It’s possible that our wonderful winner has woken up this weekend completely oblivious to the fact they are $50 million richer,” he said.

“I have no doubt when our winner does finally discover their incredible win, it will send them into a state of shock and be the beginning of a few joyful celebrations.

“Winning this amount of money is amazing at any stage, but what an amazing early Christmas gift it is!”

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1384 were 14, 6, 9, 25, 27, 31 and 33, with Powerball number 15.
