Nicholas Hoult wishes he had an intimacy coordinator on 'Skins'
Nicholas Hoult has admitted he wishes he had an intimacy coordinator when he was a young actor in Skins.
Hoult, who played Tony Stonem in the first two seasons of the controversial Channel 4 drama from 2007-2008, was often featured in explicit sex scenes when he was just 17.
Talking to Metro at the premiere of his new film The Menu, Hoult was asked if he wished intimacy coordinators had been an industry standard back when he filmed Skins.

The actor replied: "Oh yeah, I’ve been working with intimacy coordinators now for the past two or three productions I’ve been on and it’s a brilliant addition to the crew."
Hoult added: "It’s someone who can really help the storytelling through those intimate scenes and be additive to it. So it’s been a big aid."
In 2021, Skins actor April Pearson — who played Nicholas Hoult's girlfriend Michelle on the show — said she felt like she was 'too young' to be shooting sex scenes on the show.
Talking on a podcast, Pearson said: "There's a difference between being officially old enough and mentally old enough. I was having this conversation with my husband and I was saying I do feel like I was too young, I feel like I wasn't protected."
She added: "The preparation for what we were going to do… Nowadays you have an intimacy co-ordinator as a standard for nude, intimate scenes and that just simply wasn't a thing."
Hault has also previously discussed how 'weird' it was to film the scenes at such a young age: "Back then you’re a kid doing a job, and I’d done it for a long time at that point, but it’s also a weird position to be put in."

He clarified: "Not that they were bad experiences or anything… It comes much more from, 'Just get this done as quickly as possible so I can be comfortable again and carry on with the part of acting I like.' A lot of acting is pretty terrifying."
Hoult started work as a child actor and starred in films such as About a Boy with Hugh Grant and The Weather Man with Nicolas Cage.
He has since become a highly successful star through roles in the X-Men series of films, TV series The Great and a biopic of JRR Tolkien.
His new film, The Menu, in which he stars alongside Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy is released on 18 November.
