Nicole Kidman Says Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup's Wedding Was ‘Fun, Beautiful’ and ‘Deeply Memorable’ (Exclusive)

Naomi Watts and Nicole KidmanNicole Kidman had an unforgettable time celebrating the wedding of her close friend Naomi Watts.
Watts, 55, and actor Billy Crudup, 55, held a starry wedding ceremony on June 8, one year after they got legally married in a courthouse ceremony last June in New York City.
“We went to Mexico City,” Kidman tells PEOPLE. “It was deeply memorable. It was just so beautiful to witness the marriage of Billy and Naomi. And a first wedding for both of them, isn't that crazy? So there you go.”
Watts' 16-year-old Sasha — whom she shares with ex Liev Schreiber, 56, — could be seen walking the actress down the aisle in a church in photos shared by wedding guest Justin Theroux. Watts also shares 15-year-old Kai with Schreiber, her partner of 11 years before their split in 2016.

The wedding party appeared to include Crudup's son, William Parker, 20 — whom he shares with ex Mary-Louise Parker, who was seen in footage shared to Instagram by Watt’s brother, photographer Benjamin Watts.
"This is a reminder of what life's about. The affirmation of love being one of the simplest things, but the most important," Watts said in a video clip shared by Ben Watts on Instagram.
Kidman and Watts have been friends for decades, having first met as teenagers. On Instagram, Kidman celebrated the nuptials with an Instagram photo of her and the bride, writing, "best wedding weekend in #MexicoCity full of love and fun!!"
She added: "Congrats to the beautiful bride and groom xx.”

Prior to the bash, Watts, 55, opened up about her marriage to Crudup, 55, in January while on Live with Kelly and Mark. "It’s never too late, right?" she said at the time. "We found each other later… yeah, late in life. And it’s really a special thing."
The courthouse ceremony was casual, she added. "Nothing was planned because we wanted to keep it low-key. I even got my flowers from the bodega at the corner."
At the American Film Institute Life Achievement ceremony honoring Kidman on April 27, Watts gave a moving tribute to her friend on stage.
"She's opened up her homes to me. She's made me feel like part of her family. She was like the sister I'd never had," Watts, who starred with Kidman in 1991's Flirting, said.
"She's incredibly supportive of other women. For 10 years, when I lived very much under the radar, she repeated to me, 'One thing, Nay, one thing will change everything, I swear. Just hang in there,' " the Watts said, adding: "She has this heart of a lioness, and she will not let a friend suffer."
Weeks after the Mexican wedding, the two friends reunited at Balenciaga’s Haute Couture fall/winter 2024-2025 show in Paris on June 26.
It was a mom-and-daughter occasion: Kidman attended the event with her 15-year-old daughter, Sunday Rose, while Watts brought Kai.
