No way! Wayne and Garth have been feuding this whole time

It's hard to believe that the actors behind Wayne's World characters Wayne and Garth are up to anything else besides excellent party times.

But behind-the-scenes of the beloved '90s series, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, who played the aimless metal heads, have endured a rocky off-screen relationship.

In fact, whispers of a feud between the pair date back for years!

In a new interview with Howard Stern, Dana, now 61, admits that he and Mike's relationship was doomed to begin with.

The actor explains that Mike invited him to do the sketch on Saturday Night Live back in 1987 and it just kinda stuck.

"We were never meant to be a comedy team," he says. "Mike just invited me into the [Wayne’s World] sketch. I’m grateful that he did."

But then, when the pair’s SNL sketches reached cult status, Mike started to envisage a big screen adaptation.

At the time, rumours were floating around that Mike had tried to prevent Dana from appearing in the movie because he didn't want to be upstaged. What a diva.

But it wasn't until Mike released his massively successful Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery movie in 1997 that the feud started to heat up.

Mike's Dr Evil, intended to be a parody of Bond villains, seemed just a bit too similar to the impressions Dana says he used to do of SNL producer Lorne Michaels on the set of the sketch show.

"With the pinky coming out, yeah. When I first got on SNL, no-one was doing [Lorne]," he explains. "It’s a really funny affectation, because it’s so specific.

“Umm ... I’m in therapy now. When you look back at it, you get a better perspective.”

But it seems like that's all water under the bridge now.

After all, Dana, Mike and Wayne's World director Penelope Spheeris all appeared together at a 2013 reunion of the film.

"We're all getting too old to be pissed," Penelope said at the time.
