Normani adopted a student-like approach to film role

Normani adopted a no-fear approach to starring in 'Freaky Tales'.
The 27-year-old singer stars alongside Pedro Pascal in the drama film, and Normani has revealed that she relished the challenge of shooting the movie.
She told ELLE.com: "It was such a refreshing experience for me, especially since a lot of my time and my heart had been dedicated to music for so long. I felt like I was able to be creative in a different way. There was no fear going into it.
"Obviously slight nerves, because this was a new environment for me, but that’s what I loved about it most: that I could just start from scratch, like clean slate, blank canvas."
Normani - who first shot to fame as part of Fifth Harmony - was determined to learn from her co-stars.
The singer also admitted that she adopted a student-like approach to the project.
The 'Motivation' hitmaker said: "My co-star Dominique Thorne and I spent a lot of time together.
"I won’t ever stop being a student, so I asked her questions - she was telling me what I was doing well and just encouraging me to be present. It was just a really dope experience for me. It went by fast and slow all in the same breath.
"I was curious to see how they were going to put all of the different parts together, and they did a beautiful job."
Meanwhile, Normani is set to release her long-awaited debut solo album, 'Dopamine', in June.
The singer has explained the meaning behind her album title.
She shared: "'Dopamine' represents the highs and the lows I’ve endured. It’s been such an emotional roller coaster.
"I worked relentlessly with my creative director, [Kwasi Fordjour]. We did our research. I really wanted to have a title that felt like it definitely encompassed everything that I feel I’ve been through in my journey to get to the point that I’m in right now."
