Normani’s seriously fluffy, sky high stilettos have to be seen to be believed

It's been pretty quiet on the Normani front for a little while now with fans eagerly awaiting new music. But, it looks like we're going to have to wait a little longer as the artist made an appearance yesterday to promote a different kind of project. Attending the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and the premiere of her debut feature film, Freaky Tales, – also starring Pedro Pascal, FYI – Normani made sure all eyes were on her.

Wearing a monochromatic black and white star and spotty patterned cropped jacket and mini skirt co-ord from Area's Resort 2023 collection, the design was 90% shoulder pads. Huge gold and diamond button embellishments added extra '80s vibes (ya know, if your '80s power skirt suit had shrunk in the wash because those hem lengths are a modern-day update) with matching earrings *and* a matching belt slung low around her hips.

But what we really need to talk about are Normani's shoes.

Just look at the platform and sky high heels on those bad boys.

With a hint of a red sole juuust visible, the fluffy footwear can only be that of Christian Louboutin. From the designer's Autumn Winter 2011 collection, the peep-toe heels are decorated with a giant black fluffy pompom that perfectly taps into the boudoir-chic trend.

An extension of the underwear-as-outerwear trend, the aesthetic's sartorial staples include silky dresses, lace trims, billowing sleeves and floaty silhouettes. Basically, if it could double as sexy pyjamas you're onto a winner.

Still not sure what we're talking about here? Look to Lana Del Rey's new SKIMS campaign with music's queen of hearts modelling an array of night or day-appropriate attire.

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, talk about perfect timing for a trend to re-emerge.
