Ozzy Osbourne has had an incredible life. Though the rocker has had his fair share of troubles, at 75 years old he seems to have done it all.
Born John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne in Birmingham, England, on Dec. 3, 1948, he found music at a young age, scoring success with Black Sabbath before going solo — and finding love in the process.
From his early days in rock and his lengthy marriage with Sharon Osbourne to becoming a doting grandfather, see the "Bark at the Moon" singer's life in photos.
Ozzy Osbourne's Early Days
Osbourne rose to prominence in the 1970s as the lead singer for the heavy metal band, Black Sabbath.
After going through a rough patch in his teen years, Osbourne linked with bass player Terence “Geezer” Butler, guitarist Tony Iommi and drummer Bill Ward in 1968 and formed a band they initially named Polka Tulk Blues, but renamed Earth.
After gaining some popularity and getting the attention of record executives, the band changed their name one final time, from Earth to Black Sabbath, as the former was already being used by another band.
Black Sabbath Disbands
Though they had several albums under their belts, incessant drug use and rising tensions within the band led to Osbourne's dismissal from the group in 1979.
While the band would go on with other lead singers, Osbourne, with the help of Don Arden, would launch a successful solo career, steered by his debut solo album, Blizzard of Oz.
He followed that up with Bark at the Moon (1983), The Ultimate Sin (1986) and No Rest for the Wicked (1988), which all went multi-platinum in the U.S.
Ozzy Osbourne Meets Sharon Arden
Osbourne first met Sharon Arden when her father, Don Arden, was managing Black Sabbath in 1971. After being kicked out of Black Sabbath, Osbourne spent three months holed up in a hotel room getting drunk and high before Sharon helped him get back on his feet.
Sharon became his manager and helped him launch his successful solo career.

Married 41 years, Sharon opened up about the secret to their long-lasting marriage, telling E! News: "We're both oddballs. I might look quite normal, you know, the way I dress, but normal is not a word I use often."
She continued, “We’re two oddballs and were two wild young people that found each other."
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne Expand Their Family
Sharon and Ozzy welcomed their first child together, daughter Aimee Rachel, on Sept. 2, 1983. They then welcomed their second daughter, Kelly Michelle Lee, on Oct. 2, 1984, and rounded out their brood with their only son, Jack Joseph, on Nov. 8, 1985.

Ozzy Osbourne Becomes a Granpa
On April 24, 2012, Osbourne became a grandpa when son Jack welcomed his first daughter, Pearl Clementine.
Clearly, the rock n' roll genes run in the family: Pearl's little sis Andy, born in 2015, was pictured sticking her tongue out for a photo, just like her famous papa. "Andy calls this her lemon face and loves to have Papa make it with her," Jack wrote under the adorable pic, with #chipofftheoldblock in the caption as well.
In addition to Pearl and Andy, Jack and ex-wife Lisa Stelly are also parents to Minnie Theodora, born in 2018. Last July, Jack welcomed daughter Maple Artemis with fiancée Aree Gearhart.

Ozzy Osbourne's Health
Osbourne has faced his share of health issues over the years, and in a November 2023 interview with Rolling Stone UK, the so-called Prince of Darkness opened up about his view on death, and how long he thinks he has "left" to live.
“I said to Sharon that I’d smoked a joint recently and she said, ‘What are you doing that for! It’ll f---ing kill you!’ I said, ‘How long do you want me to f---ing live for?!’" he told the outlet.
"At best I’ve got 10 years left and when you’re older, time picks up speed," he continued.
Back in February, the legendary rocker canceled all of his upcoming performances and announced that he was quitting touring due to a spinal injury. At the time, he described the news on Instagram as "one of the hardest things I've ever had to share."
Osbourne had surgery in 2019 following a fall, when he aggravated previous damage to his neck and back from an ATV accident 16 years earlier. After more three more surgeries and a Parkinson's disease diagnosis, the rocker told Rolling Stone UK that he "will" perform again if its possible, but that he's "taking it one day at a time."
"But it’s been like saying farewell to the best relationship of my life," he said. "At the start of my illness, when I stopped touring, I was really pissed off with myself, the doctors and the world. But as time has gone on, I’ve just gone, ‘Well, maybe I’ve just got to accept that fact.’ "
