Philadelphia Eagles Make Cold Cash Selling Snow From Playoff Win
The Philadelphia Eagles are proving there’s no business like snow business.
The Eagles beat the Los Angeles Rams 28-22 Sunday in a game marked by frosty fumbles in snowy weather, and the team decided to use the playoff win to make some cold cash.
After the game, team employees collected snow from Lincoln Financial Field’s end zone and turned it into an icy memento of the win, which got the Eagles into this Sunday’s NFC championship game.
Some fans want to save the snow from the game since weather conditions seemed to have a bad effect on the Rams’ performance, according to Fox News.
During the game, Rams players committed multiple drops, fumbles and incomplete passes that appeared to be caused by the snow.
Pints of the end zone snow sold for $50 at The Realest, the team’s memorabilia marketplace, and were a hot commodity, selling out within three hours, according to Philadelphia Fox affiliate WTXF TV.
Eagles fans in the area can pick up their snow pints at the team’s ticket office at Lincoln Financial Field starting Monday. Meanwhile, out-of-town fans will get their pints shipped to them in two pounds of dry ice.
Most Eagles fans purchasing the snow pints will simply preserve them in a freezer, but it’s possible others might find other uses.
Fox News noted that Eagles fans have actually thrown snowballs at rival teams during games before.
